October 20, 2009 October has been a busy, busy month on the volunteer scene. Every weekend there has been at least one event, meeting, or scheduled activity to attend. With so many things going on, it should be no surprise that I have had a couple of “firsts” and lots of fun things happening. |

A few weeks ago I was invited to speak before a group of young female athletes, their coaches and families at a Field Hockey Tourney here in Greensboro NC. I gladly accepted the invitation and almost immediately started to get a little anxious – not in a good way anxious. |

September 28, 2009 This past weekend I had pleasure of volunteering at the American Diabetes Association’s Step Out Walk for Eastern North Carolina. For several months I had been looking forward to participating for a second time as a walker, but a recent injury to my foot-more specifically a fractured sesamoid-sidelined me from actually walking the 5K route. But like all things in life, everything happened exactly as it was intended. |
