DiabetesSisters is currently offering 5 registration scholarships to women with diabetes (age 18 years and older) for the Weekend for Women Conference. The Conference will take place May 22-23, 2010 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
General Information
Scholarships cover the cost of the registration fee which includes a single room at Marriott City Center for the evening of Saturday, May 22, dinner on Saturday evening, breakfast, lunch and snacks on Sunday, one relaxation session on Saturday evening, attendance at all seven educational sessions, a Weekend for Women program/agenda, t-shirt, and tote bag. If you are selected to receive a scholarship, please be aware that you will be responsible for financing your own transportation and any other expenses not listed above.
Only women who have pre-diabetes, gestational diabetes, type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, or LADA (type 1.5) and are in financial need are eligible to apply for the scholarships. The scholarships are granted on an individual basis and will not be granted to an organization. Scholarships are not transferable to another individual.
While we understand that many other women have been affected by diabetes (as caregivers to a person with diabetes), we are limited in the number we can award. Therefore, we must restrict these scholarships only to women who have a diagnosis of diabetes as listed in the previous paragraph.
If you are eligible, please complete and submit the following application. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Applications will be accepted until March 1, 2010 and selections will be made on a first-come, first serve basis. If you are selected, you will be notified by April 1, 2010 and asked to verify your acceptance of the scholarship by a specified deadline. If you do not accept the scholarship by the deadline provided, your scholarship will be forfeited and given to another applicant.
