I don’t know how many times I’ve been on the phone this week with my mail order pharmacy and my doctor’s office.  I am sure it was enough to where they are quite tired of hearing my voice.  It was the time tested dilemma of the mail order pharmacy and getting a new Rx from your doctor.  At the beginning of February, I reordered my supplies from the mail order pharmacy.  This should have been easy enough, but I am never so lucky.

It seems that when you have diabetes there is always something to write about…a frustration, a funny mishap, a segment on the diabetes police.  But this week is different.    Aside from the daily “maintenance”, my diabetes has presented very few problems.  I would dare say this is one of those weeks when diabetes doesn’t seem to conspire against my overall happiness.  So, I figured I would just tell you a little bit about what my “normal” life has consisted of this week.

I was sitting at the kitchen bar the other night while my dear hubby was in our front room exercising.   (Our front room is a big open space with nothing but bike trainers, a pilates machine and free weights.  I also use this space to do my exercise videos.)  Against one wall we have a 30 gallon aquarium and while hubby was exercising he was watching the fish.  Then I hear, “Oh man, I have seen it all.”  “What?” I exclaim from the other room.  When he doesn’t answer I venture in to see what his “excitement” is all about.

Today I have a hangover.  Not the kind of hangover that involved beverages of the alcoholic sort or late nights at a smoky bar.  Nope, this hangover is the kind brought on by the dreaded 4am super low blood sugar followed by a rebound high, an early morning bolus to correct the high number and incessant praying for a good fasting number when the alarm goes off.

Diabetes Mishaps

A few weeks ago I read a blog posting by a fellow Type 1 blogger.  She was frustrated at the number of diabetes supplies “mishaps” she had endured that particular week.  As I read her posting I thought about the odd number of diabetes supplies related mishaps I had endured that particular week as well.  I figured it must have been “just one of those weeks” and completely agreed with her theory of a diabetes supply rebellion.
