Standardized Testing -Hard On the Pancreas! (Caroline) |
|
Hello diabetes sisters! How is everyone? I have been studying for my LSAT examinations very hard for the past few months and the big day to take the test is finally coming...on MONDAY! These are my standardized test scores that I will use to apply to law school--my law school admittance tests. I have literally been studying for this test since last June and I feel great about taking the test. It's a one-shot deal, it's not like the SATs where you can take it as many times as you would like. So the pressure is definitely on, but it is a good feeling that no matter what it's over and done with on Monday and I don't have to think about it again! Yay! For us diabetic test takers I just want everyone to know that there are mechanisms in place for test takers with special needs. You can always call the testing service to learn about the services thclaey offer for people who might need more time or extra breaks to test blood sugars, or food allowed in the testing area. The LSAT test allows you to take food and drink into the testing site so I decided not to ask for special allowances, but it is great to know that those mechanisms are in place should we need them! So if you are taking any standardized test, call the testing agency and talk about your options. This also goes for your classes at school--if you are worried about testing procedures at your school or college, or about a certain teacher's attitude, go ahead and talk about it with the teacher or a guidance counselor. Wish me luck!
