Summer Sleep-Ins (Caroline) PDF Print E-mail

5/27/2008

Hello everyone! So after today we’ll be back on the regular schedule of blogging on the weekends. Let’s talk about sleeping in during the summer (one of my personal favorite activities.) For those of us on insulin pumps, it’s not such a big deal—we can pretty safely eat when we want to without having to worry about an eating schedule. For those of you who are using insulin shots and pens instead of a pump, it’s more important to stick to a strict eating regimen. Make sure that you are waking up in time to eat a good breakfast so that you can avoid waking up with a low blood sugar. You can always just wake up and eat breakfast and go right back to bed so that you get those great summer sleeping hours in. Even try keeping a granola bar and some fruit by your bed, so you can roll over, eat, and go back to bed! I would hate to see anyone miss out on sleeping until noon… :-)

Wow, the joys of sleeping in!! I always hated that I was never able to sleep in
like my friends!! UNTIL I got my pump!! It is so comforting to know that so
many people have the same "issues" as I do!!

Great blog!
