You deserve a night or two to focus on taking care of your mental and physical health. After all, this is the ONLY weekend out of the year that you will have the opportunity to socialize, share, "let your hair down", and learn from friends who are living with diabetes. 12. My daughter is 13 and has diabetes. Can she attend this Conference? We appreciate your enthusiasm about our Conference and your desire to provide educational resources for your daughter. However, the atmosphere at this Conference will be one of good, clean adult fun among old and new friends. Some may choose to consume alcohol on Saturday night while socializing with other women who are living with diabetes. In addition, the topics discussed during the sessions, such as sex, pregnancy, and menopause will be geared toward a mature female audience. As a result, we require Weekend for Women Conference attendees to be 18 years or older. Diabetes Camp may be a good option for your daughter until she turns 18. You can check the ADA website for camps in your area: http://www.diabetes.org/living-with-diabetes/parents-and-kids/ada-camps/.
13. My spouse is very supportive and wants to be more involved. Will there be any sessions he can participate in this year?
