Hello ladies! Hope everyone is having a great week. Personally, it has been a great week. I had two tests this past Monday and now I am basically done until finals! My best friend’s birthday is tomorrow so we’re all getting together. Carolina football had a big win against Georgia Tech at homecoming. UNC basketball kicked off last weekend with our first exhibition game. Not to mention the leaves changing and cooler weather is coming. Fall is my absolute favorite season!
No More "Diabetes" (Megan)

I would like to make a proposition to those with power in the medical field. It is simple really, and makes sense to all those living with diabetes. Type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes need to be called completely different names, just not diabetes. True, they both involve a problem with the insulin and if not treated, will lead to hyperglycemia, but they have distinctly different disease mechanisms. Type 1 involves an autoimmune response to your body’s insulin-producing cells, and type 2 involves the body not being able to use or adequately produce enough insulin. I feel a change in nomenclature will allow people to better understand this difference, as this is a common misconception.

Hello ladies! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week. This week is quite stressful for me, as I have a lot of school work to complete before the weekend. But sometimes, I think, you just need a break. My break came tonight.
