Between daily testing, meal planning, carb counting, exercising with the specific intent to improve our blood sugars, it’s not much of a surprise that diabetes is top of the mind for most of us – and often times our families. January 10, 2010 Most of last week was a complete blur. It seemed like by the time I caught my breath, looked at the calendar, it was Thursday! For me keeping my day to schedule as consistent as possible is the single most important strategy I have for controlling my numbers.

January 3, 2010 Happy New Year to all my Diabetessisters! We have a very exciting year ahead of us ladies, especially our upcoming Weekend for Women. I hope each and every one of you makes it here to beautiful North Carolina in May for this historic event. I would like to introduce myself, in the hopes that each of you reading this blog will take a moment to introduce yourselves to me. My name is Marci Williams and I live in Greensboro NC with my husband of two years, Gerald. We are very blessed that my children and their families live here as well; which makes spending lots of time spoiling our two grandchildren very fun and easy to do. I have worked for the same place almost twelve years and about six months ago we became fully integrated into FedEx Express – Latin America Caribbean.

December 26, 2009 A year ago I emailed Brandy Barnes, the Director of Diabetes Sisters congratulating her on her supportive web site for women with diabetes. Next thing I knew, Brandy was asking me to blog for three months under the type 2 banner. I agreed after plotting out 12 blogs about what had helped me get my diabetes under control. Well, it’s 48 blogs later and more than time to pass the torch to Marci, a fresh voice for us type 2’s. Why would Marci, you, or I agree to the stress of posting a weekly blog on an international web site? That’s a good question and one I asked myself weekly.
