November 18, 2009 Hello and let me apologize for the long time since my last blog posted. I know I keep using this excuse as we all could, but I have been very busy and distracted lately and my routine is out of "whack". Work has been busy and the uncertainty of my job status remains a mystery, our company is up for sale and the final bidders have been narrowed down but no "new owner" announcement has been made. Needless to say this is causing extra work to prepare things and reporting current numbers to whoever may request them. On a positive and very happy note, I have been spending free time with my boyfriend, living and learning while enjoying every moment we can with each other. Sooooo Happy with that right now. Another positive and steady note, my blood sugars have been ok, with no major lows or highs to report. The ADA had a walk-a-thon a few weeks ago in near by Jacksonville Florida. This event kind of snuck up on me and unfortunately I was unable to participate. I will have to admit and I hope I am not the only one who feels this way. I have always had a hard time soliciting pledges from friends/co-workers/family in order to raise donations for the American Diabetes Association. I have no problem participating in fund raisers like this in order to raise support and awareness in the search for a cure for this disease I have lived with for over 27 years now. Of course with the economy the way it is, it is even more difficult to ask. I have myself have cut back on making donations for charities like American Cancer Society as well as the ADA, as I have been able to financially in the past. Times are tough and extra money is not laying around. However, I do believe that any help we all can give to one another, whether its support, our time and money, is always returned back to us in a form that we may need. Give and you will receive back in one way or another, sometimes it may just be an uplifting feeling, or being needed and appreciated by someone else. A wonderful feeling and goal I know that I myself need to devote more energy to.Enjoy your week!!
