| A New Love in My Life (Sara) |

November 30, 2009 Good evening Diabetes Sisters!!! I hope all of you are having an amazing week thus far. There have been a lot of things going on in my life lately. This is especially true since it is exam time and I have a new love in my life. This past weekend I was able to take in a new cocker spaniel puppy named Baileigh. He is absolutely amazing and adorable, and most importantly he helps me escape from the dependency of diabetes. No matter how much I deny it, as a student and a diabetic I rely on my supplies, parents, and doctors a lot. They help me manage my blood sugar levels and pump maintenance, as well as, provide support when I am down about a long exam week. Now that my new puppy is in my life I feel like a rejuvenated woman because the precious puppy depends on me for food, love, care, and more. Even if the difference is small, it is meaningful.
As I mentioned before, the next few weeks will be jam packed with exams and papers since it is the end of the fall semester. I am looking forward to the end, but I really have to make sure that I have tight control over my blood sugar levels during this time so that I can perform to the best of my abilities.
