October 24, 2009 Hello everyone! I had a pretty easy week again. I am getting used to this. I went to the doctor on Tuesday. He said everything was going great. He actually said for me to keep on doing whatever I am doing brcause I am doing great. This is always great to hear. I am always worrying if I am doing good or the right thing. Ie is nice to have some reassurance. I see my sugars coming back at good levels and I feel healthy but it is still nice for the “doctor” to agree. Of course, it doesn’t replace the everyday questions of can I eat this or can I take this? I didn’t realize how much diabetes could impact your every day thinking. I remember being devastated when I heard the news but even then I didn’t realize the impact it would have on my life. When I found out I was pregnant too, then things really started kicking in. You know, I have said to many people that the pregnancy was an answer to my prayers, a strange answer, but an answer all the same. From the day I found out, I prayed every day that God would give me a way to control my diabetes. I had never had good willpower or control in losing weight before. I was very scared that I wouldn’t be able to do it with the diabetes also. I knew all the consequences if I didn’t control it, so I prayed. Well, let me tell you, there is no better motivation than a baby. I am not only thinking about my health now, but the baby’s health too. I don’t even think twice now about it. I just have to keep it up. I figure after 9 to 10 months of this it will be a habit for me and I can continue it on for life. It was an answer to a prayer. Like I said, it has a strange twist to it, but all the same it has definitely motivated me to live healthier and control my diabetes better than ever.
