DiabetesSisters is currently offering 4 registration scholarships and 1 full scholarship (registration, hotel, and transportation covered) to women with diabetes (age 18 years and older) for the Weekend for Women Conference. The Conference will take place May 18-20, 2012 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
General Information
If you are selected to receive a Registration scholarship, please be aware that you will be responsible for financing your own transportation and accommodation expenses and any other expenses not listed above.
If you are selected to receive a full scholarship, your conference registration fee($100), 2 nights hotel accommodations at Marriott City Center ($99 + tax per night), and flight to and from the conference ($700 maximum) will be paid for by DiabetesSisters.
Only women who have gestational diabetes, type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, or LADA (type 1.5) and are in financial need are eligible to apply for the scholarships. The scholarships are granted on an individual basis and will not be granted to an organization. Scholarships are not transferable to another individual.
While we understand that many other women have been affected by diabetes (such as caregivers to a person with diabetes), we are limited in the number of scholarships we can award. Therefore, we must restrict these scholarships only to women who have a diagnosis of diabetes as listed in the previous paragraph.

Applications will be accepted until March 1, 2012 and decisions (based on financial need and answers provided in application) will be made by March 15, 2012. If you are selected, you will be notified on/around April 1, 2012 and asked to verify your acceptance of the scholarship by a specified deadline via email. If you do not accept the scholarship by the deadline provided, your scholarship will be forfeited and given to another applicant.
